I think maybe you were looking at the "trust link" reviews. The BBB itself rated them a 'D' (as in below average) and listed several complaints of over-valuation.
Hi,
Yes, you are right, I missed that completely. Thanks, a "D" rating, that pretty much tells the story...

declasse: adj. 1. reduced or fallen in status, social position, class or rank; fallen from a high status or rank to a lower one.
2. of inferior grade, rank, status, or prestige.
i saw the appraisal , nice necklace but the price , if you do sell it tell the truth and show the certificate but state you are not comfortable with it , people can check it out themselves. i think being truthful will keep you in good ranking . You never know how much someone is wiling to pay for something , and thats it value -really
thanks, ms. b, for sharing the definition of "declasse" when it comes to clarity/grading of diamonds.
i agree with dragonstek, william, you never know what someone is willing to pay for a piece of jewelry, and be honest and let the buyer know that you are not comfortable with the report. but, after reading the last 4 paragraphs from the link that RAW rocks provided, i would probably send the piece to a reputable appraiser, since the AIG sometimes does not physically evaluate client's merchandise. that's a double-!!

Sorry, I was giving a general definition.
I've never heard clarity referred to as declasse. You'd have to call the AIG and ask them.
Pique, yes, declasse, no.
i'm very confused about this report even more now. i googled to find out more info, not sure, but, "declasse" is used for colored stone grading, and not diamonds or black diamonds. ?
