Well People, let me explain a bit about how i use FB.
GO forum is an uncomparable resource for gemology but, you know we don't have here all the people we would have, I setted up my Fb profile just to made more connections in the gemological world. Since from the beginning i refused to give my friendship to old school pals and so on saying "sorry folks, i use FB for work.." Someone of you are my FB friend, you know the biggest part of my friends aren't italian and are indeed someway connected to gemology-stones-jewelry. i must say i don't use FB often, i have no time but, neverthless i was able to find infos and met people in the gemmo field that i wasn't able to find and met here. Sometimes i advertised GO there, some of my friends came here after i contacted them on FB. There are MANY very interesting groups there, spinelover is one nice example. So, in the end, FB is a tool and like every tool it could have multiple uses, It's only a matter to find which is suitable for you
my 2 cents only.
ciao alberto
I use it for friends, but mainly networking my business.
I never mention gemstones. You never know who is out there???

I joined Facebook @ a year ago to stay in touch with some young friends of mine in Mexico (it was all the rage with them). Since that time I have found over a dozen old friends (figuratively and literally) through facebook. I just love it. For every old friend I find I usually find 2-3 more from their friends list. These are people who I had completely lost contact with for 30-40 years.
