In case you've missed it, GO is, right now, selecting photos posted to the forum in the last 12 months to illustrate a GO 2011 calendar. All details and how you can have your say are in the GO Calendars 2011 topic in the Photography and Photomicrography section.

Why not take a look and and make your own selections? The most popular pics that the owners grant a licence to use will be the final 12 chosen.

It is intended to finalise the selection on 14th Nov and start taking orders the following week for mailling out by the end of November.

So.... dig out your favourite pics posted to the forum and have your say! The more suggestions received, the better the final selection for the calendar should be!

All responses in the main GO calendar topic area please.

Actually, not all pictures on the forum will be suitable.
Many are not available in high resolution. The pics currently chosen should all be available in high res.

I would say, unless there is a picture on the calendar that you absolutely hate, let's carry on.

i think a picture suitable for a calendar must be scenographic in a way or another.

here's my little contribute:

Image

Ramaura synthetic corundum, ruby rough. hexagonal pattern and flux relics.

Albe, what a fine idea. I can hear Alain making some off color remark about the whole calendar biz but really being flattered that it was dedicated to him. Excellent idea sir!

I suggest we use a smaller picture of Alain on the back of the calendar and leave the personal shots at that.
"Dedicated to the Memory of Alain van Acker": Top
"We miss you." Bottom

We don't have time to mock up several hundred members.
I suggest June be substituted with Alberto's synthetic ruby.

I want to stick with Alberto's Synthetic Diamond inclusions for April as well, if possible. Appropriate for the April birthstone and it's a really interesting shot.

Hmmm... you flatter me.
Of course I can contribute with some images. I'll check my image stock and see what suitable stuff emerges.
Is the general idea to use "birthstone of the month"? Like diamond for april, emerald for may and so on?

That's very generous Conny. Barring accidents, the photo choices for the 2011 calendar are now pretty firm, basically by popular choice with editorial over-ride by The Boss. She'll give the final selection on Sunday and ask the prospective contributors (which will certainly include your good self) for their permission for free one-off use of the images for this not-for-profit calendar and to send in to her high-res files of the chosen images.
