"Zimbabwe diamonds are available at $40 per carat, which is very cheap as compared to other mining giants whose diamonds are sold above $100 per carat...................."

Get that down to $10 per carat and I'll become a Mormon.

What's offensive is why the diamonds go for $40 a carat! Hasn't anyone wondered why they are so cheap?...

I have high hopes for this documentary that is about to air on my favorite television channel:

MUGABE'S BLOOD DIAMONDS
http://www.linktv.org/programs/mugabes- ... iamonds?hm

I love Martin Rapaport's quote in the promo link I posted:

"There's a reason god scattered those in the lands of the poorest people of the world, and [created] a want for the richest people in the world to buy them"

If one meditates on this saying (in any religion) I don't think anyone would ever want to buy diamonds from Mugabe's failed terrorist state.

Uhmmm...this is not out of line for rough diamond prices. $40 per carat is midrange.

In an article in Rappaport mag a few years ago, rough, gem quality, diamond prices were quoted from a low of $20 per carat to a high of $120 per carat in Sierra Leone as I recall.

I would love to get a copy of the article if anyone still has it.
