From September 29th to October 1st, 2013 the 4th Italian Congress of Scientific Gemmology will be held in Naples, jointly organized by the Centro Musei delle Scienze Naturali e Fisiche of the University of Naples Federico II and by the University of Bari, in collaboration with the Superintendence for the historical, artistic and ethno-anthropological heritage and for the Museum of Naples and the Chamber of Commerce of Naples.

The Congress aims to highlight the important role of scientific research and of young people training in the field of gemmology and jewelry industry, which is one of the driving manufacturing sectors in the promotion of “Made in Italy” all over the world. The Congress wants to promote a real and fruitful synergy, already underway, with jewelry companies and with representatives of the goldsmith field in Campania region and in Italy, such as Gemtech, Borgo Orefici Association and the Italian Goldsmith Federation.

Jeffery Bergman is our Golden Gate Chapter Thursday October 24th speaker! I met him @ JCK 2013 when I attended the AGA's wonderful fancy color diamond seminar :) I'm looking forward to his Tanzanite lecture.
