Hi there, I follow with big interest threads where users explain or show how they store their stones/collection. I am wondering which is the best/nicest method for this. Because one thing is the clearness of the collection, one other aspect safety for the precious stuff and last but not least a few stones should be stored dark or dry or....
So I would be pleased to see or read how you keep your collection to get an idea how it could be. I´m just rearranging mine in a seed box from a print office. I will show some pictures the next days, because i´m just grinding down the cupboard to give him a better optic again But I´m looking forward to it, it has 22 layers with about 150 different sized compartments for each layer.

@Conny for sure, if you have precious stuff or trade with the gems. How do you store your "normal" stones, like garnets, or stones which are not that worthy? Or don´t you have such stones?
I do have many stones in gem boxes like Barbra yet even more in old fashioned gem papers (envelopes). Yes I do have a lot of cheap stuff and synthetics for reference. Most are stored same way. I do not want to loose them either. All gemstones are worthy of a decent storage. Even mini-grip (zip-lock) plastic bags work. Anything that makes the stones not rub together is good storage. IMO.
I store my gems in gem boxes and store the rough gem material in a safe protected by a alarm system and Alarm Company . Keep it safe, its all precious . Howard J. Shamy

I moved from Florida to Wyoming. Between the first movers & the Person who broke into my storage unit I thank God I didn't have my jewels in a safe. I keep them in a undergarment drawer that I keep stained yet launderd undergarment. They most likely would have taken the safe.
