 Post subject: AIGS brief report.

Hi all.I'm not very familiar with the AIGS brief report,and I'd like to know what "heated(b)" means....the difficult part is the b,obviously! 8)

there are usually legends in Certificates/Reports in back or in the cover

That's what I thought,but shouldn't it be "Be" instead of only "b"?

yeah..... in GRS the H(b) stands for: Enhanced by heat, minor residues are present (within fissures only)

it seems like they have Classification just like GRS for the Heat Treatment of Corundums

so its not Be Treated, your Ruby is treated with residues from the heating process present in healed fissures

actually its the quantification of residues in healed fissures, residues can be recrystallized ruby (synthetic ruby), or residues from borax (glass, trapped gas....)

they categorized minor/moderate/significant with alphabetic, GIA use Alphanumerics...
