Perhaps you can label these shots with exactly what we are looking at and the location where it was found. :D

Not so easy, it's a guessing game.

The Aragonite is simple, Robin you fell into the trap, the green looks like Kryptonite and both producing noble gasses (Argon and Krypton) most people assume by association that it is Kryptonite. Well it's been mined out up there for a long time now, but there is plenty of green fluorite left.

I was last through in 2009 Macvan, glad to hear some mines are still open, it was all doom and gloom then.

Cheers,

Sean.

LOL, I wasn't guessing what it really was, it was a reference to Superman :p I actually wasn't aware there was a real life Kryptonite......? Krypton, yes, but it's known only as Krypton in all it's forms, to my knowledge.

Well you'd be correct, I was just fooling around, I doubt the Aragonite is correct either, made a good story though.
Macvan will enlighten us.

For the record, there sort of is RL kryptonte. The chemical formula they generated for the movie was actually discovered, but they weren't able to name it kryptonite because of the lack of krypton in it.

It came from the DRC a few years back. Relative density 2.72 have not done a hardness test but with other tests I have done looks like green Beryl at the bottom. crystals are at the longest around 20mm. Under loope has grain similar to beryl.Image
