I first signed up and lurked quite a bit while still working in NY state. I was a member of a lapidary society there, but am now orphaned since April 1st.
I'm a material scientist, working just a little west of Zurich, and would dearly like to know if anyone here is familiar with active lapidary clubs in CH [the Swiss abbreviation].
I was happy to find Free-form.ch, and plan to make a trip there to introduce myself. I imagine they may be the best resource to help find what I am looking for, a group of folks negotiating limited resources and equipment. Give me a year of that, or so, and I'll go back purchase my own digitec . While I did learn to finish a cut by eye, i am spoiled by the speed with which you can get to the 'hard' part.
Enough for now. Thanks in advance for any and all info provided.
Thanks much, I have definitely done my share of lurking / drooling over the works I've seen on this forum.
Barbara, regarding my question on Lapidary connections in Switzerland, would you suggest the best forum section for me to followup with the same question?
