Who is GLB = gemological laboratory bangkok co ltd?

Why are they not listed to the gemological laboratories on the website http://www.sawadee.de/thailand/gems/ like Department of Mineral Resources, The Gems and Jewelry Institute of Thailand, Asian Institute of Gemological Science (AIGS), International Gemological Institute (IGI) and Tokyo Gem Laboratory (Thailand) Co., Ltd.?

Is this a recognized institute?

Does anyone have experience with it?

there are many gem labs in BKK, GIT and AIGS are the most accredited others are cheaper for certification and not all of them are accredited.
from time to time traders change to new lab, i don't know GBL

Does anyone tested the stones, which came with such certificates?
Because you have to open up the certificate and it is worthless (if it wasn´t before too..)

If you have no faith in them, don't support them by purchasing something they've identified or graded.

We do not work together with laboratories we do not know and which are not wellknown international.

Thank you that you all confirm to me not to know them.
I'm rather confused about such labs getting more and more....

I see the GLB certs (nearly) only on ebay. But there in high counts.
I myself had about 20 of them in my collection. Because of these information and the experiences in the last weeks with certs, I opened up all of them and checked the stones. Everything was ok, but by the way about 80% of these certs openend their wrapping by themselves.
The glue seems not to be very perseverative, so in nearly all of these cases it was possible to take out the stone.
I think these certs are very cheap and the only intention is to sell a "certified" stone which is then more expensive... no matter to the quality of the cert.

arglthesheep,
Thanks to your kind reply and review.
Are the details given of the stones really as gemologist would grade them?

Normally the measurments, the weight, the kind of stone, cut, color and comments.
(except diamonds and as I saw sometimes with rubies if glasfilled...).

e.g. http://www.goettgen.de/schmuck-foren/at ... _1_833.jpg

As I see the only discussable thing (if they can weigh and measure correct) would be if the color is correctly described (if the stone is correctly IDed for sure).

I have about 20 GLB certificates and there all stones were correctly IDed.

Another thing is with the diamonds. As I am not a experienced gemologist, I can´t tell you if clarity, symmetry, polish and color are correctly described with these certificates.
Normally there are no treatements tested/declared (none on my diamonds with GLB and just one ruby (glasfilled) ) So I can´t say if they test this at all with every stone, if it is not mentioned or clear totally when you see the stone.
The declarations seem to me realistic in most cases, though in most (19 out of 20) cases no treatments are listed, while I think there are more of the stones treated (blue Diamond e.g., blue topaz).

So as a generell ID for a stone ok, but as a real certificate not really sufficant.
