While this discussion is going on, does anyone want to throw out their definition of "color-change" and "color-shift"?

Color change - change of hue, color shift - change of tone. The first is characteristic of a small amount of precious stones and other materials, the second is common to all colored subjects and objects, including all colored gems.

Borderline might be not visible to our eyes due low sensitivity, but could be visible using specific tools...

I would define it something like that..
