I am as dark as the night,
from the depth of which
the lady in blue reminds me
of a god that binds us both.

who am I?

no, this isn't about ice or melt.

The answer should be obvious once you find out what the poem is about :-)

Could it be iolite ? Although Ios means purple in greek and I don't think it refers to any god or goddess.
But it must be something of the kind.

It is a poem lyrics, deeply in love also blinds like e.g juliet could be lady in blue used for someone else, if i take gemology in between then, a lady is deeply in love with a blue diamond....and sorrow for not having it, other wise its like a lady is deeply in love with someone (special for her) and sorrow for not having him..
Regarding some kind of memories,

haha finally my riddle raised some interest :smt005

Obviously "who am I" is about finding the name of a gem, not a common one, though

It's not iolite, not tanzanite, not tourmaline, not diamond.

Nicky is right about the color of the stone being "as dark as the night", Isi was right guessing that the stone would be related in some way to a god, and Gabroo also raised a key question: who is the "lady in blue"? (there's are clues of course)

The only prominent lady in blue I can think of is the virgin Mary in traditional depictions, which would be painted with ultramarine pigment of course. But lapis is far too common to fit the bill, and the only other association I can think of is that she's depicted with pearls.

The "lady" isn't refeering to the virgin. Also, as Nicky deduced, the stone IS as dark as the night.
