Just wondering if anyone here has any first hand experience with Gemworld's Appraisal Software, (The publishers of The Guide)?

Thanks in advance. :D

I own it.
I actually got it ages ago, used it a couple times and lost interest.
I was most interested in the diamond plots.
But a far better collection of diamond plots is available thru Perfect Diagram

I think one can make their own template for appraisals and be quite OK, perhaps substantially better off.

The appraisal software that I have used, commoditized jewelry in a way that is not accurate, in my opinion.

Or, you can always try to sweet-talk someone, cough, cough, who already has a good appraisal report form into sharing with you  .

Thanks for the reply Barbra. I use a basic form too. I was just getting ready to renew our Guide subscription and began wondering if perhaps I was missing out on something that would make life much easier. (Not that any of us creatures of habit EVER do that!)

Greetings One & All

I myself own and use and am totally sold on Quantum Leap Software PAS2002

Thom Underwood out of San Diego designed and built this program.

It has everything you can ever want or need and the best part of the program is that it grows with you as you can design and modify it to fit your appraising needs.

I have a major project coming up and that is I have to do an Estate Appraisal that consists of almost 800 lots. It was an Internet colored stone business and the owners have passed away and now I have to appraise the entire inventory for the court.

This is a major undertaking to say the least, as it will take about 90 days or so to do.

All I can say is that I would never ever attempt to try to appraise and correlate nearly 800 lots into an appraisal without Quantum Leap.

So to make almost 800 separate highly detailed entries into my program and then be able to shuffle it around, move things so they are all grouped together is quite easy with this program.

But then again what do I know. LOL

Well one good thing is that I’ll have bragging rights on doing almost one of the biggest appraisals from start to finish. I mean 800 separate and individual lots in one appraisal….WOW!!!

Just imagine how many pages my finial appraisal report will be? I’ll have to put it into a BIG Notebook. It will take the printer one full day to print the whole thing out!! I wonder how much ink this will use!?!?!?!

Thanks Thom and Thanks QLS/PAS without you guys I would have passed on this gargantuan project.

Later

LaShawn,
Congratulations on your large appraisal assignment. It would take someone with your energy to take on this task.
I'm exhausted just thinking about it.

No kidding.
If I ever have the opportunity to do an appraisal with hundreds of items, I'll pass along LaShawn's phone number, cough cough.

Thanks in advance. :D

where i used to worked they had it & i worked with a lot. its fine. as Barbra said there are better plots and i used my own.

only thing i did not approve was that you have to pay for software and again for each appraisal pay separate (its almost cost 1$)
then again the price subscription is extra!

but i think for price guide it was very good. the alternative is gemeprice.
