Good question, but what is it worth if you dont like it as it is?? I just recut an untreated Srilankan Sapphire that was cut in the old "facetted window"-style,nice light to medium colour but no brillance at all.Was 4.07 carat, now 2,08 carat but very brillant ! Speaking of worth/value ,Sure the carat price has just doubled now (plus cutting) but who would like a lifeless Stone just because it is big caratwise? So if you dont like it now and there is no sentiments connected with the Stone making you want to keep it as it is, i would suggest to go on recutting.just my 2cents. Gerd

Your stone has a depth 67% of width so it should be close to closing window wise. I think a good repolish and minimum recutting of the pavilion will improve the stone substsntially without losing too much face size or weight.

You need a lot of depth to get a brilliant stone with a step-cut pavilion. I would recommend a brilliant-type cut, either culet Barion or a keel-style Barion concept. I love the keel-style Barion for saving weight of something really thick on the pavilion. http://imgur.com/0ThgvtD
You can adjust the ends to make the keel longer or shorter depending on the stone. A longer keel tends to look better in my opinion, but you can't always make one.
