Just this week my son specifically told me he wanted to read the copy on my desk, but he just couldn't translate the Italian. So now he'll be happy next time he visits my office!

Eric Fritz graciously gave me the translated hard copy while we were at the World of Gems Conference this past weekend. Love it! =D>

Just finished reading about the surface diffused sapphire using synthetic white sapphire. I'd seen those in the Bangkok market and it absolutely floors me they would go to the trouble of processing these when they could just grow a nice blue synthetic! Alas, its all about the deception.

Alberto, if you have a sample could you test to see if it transmits SW UV?

yes i have the samples i used for the article, will check for SWUV transmission and report (as soon i will find 'em, just moved the lab and i still need to unpack and organize a lot of stuff.... :roll: )
