It arrived...and it's missing parts. Specifically the transfer jig and the control knob. I can turn it on and off with a screwdriver, but the transfer jig is REALLY important for finishing stones.

I am aghast. What the hell?

The Graves transfer jig is crude and in my experience pretty useless. Just buy a better one.

Sorry to bring this back up, but I was wondering if you ever got your issues with Graves straightened out?

I've been finally thinking about pulling the trigger on ordering a machine straight from the company, but reading through this (not to mention all the other issues people have had in the past) has me hesitating big time.

Yes and no. I got the machine about 12 weeks after ordering it, but I'm STILL waiting for the Darkside lap from the lap package I bought, and we're at 22 weeks in. If you can go through a vendor, I suggest you do. The machine is great and well worth the price, but you will be waiting for it if you order directly from Graves.

Wow, still huh?! That's some turnaround time...
Did you at least get the missing parts?

I really appreciate the reply, I'll look around for a vendor for sure now.

I'm a bit late to this party, but I ordered my machine directly from the Graves company too and it took MONTHS to arrive as well.
Mine also arrived without the control knob. I just got used to using a flat head screwdriver to set it.

That seems to be the consensus - I'll have to see if I can find one here in So Cal. Thanks!
