Hi all, if anyone would mind sharing I'm trying to save up to go to Mexico and mine Opals. If anyone would be generous enough to share what (if they are aware of one) mine yields opal with good fire? Thanks in advance!

John Sinkankas' book(s) "Gemstones of North America" would give you an idea of what areas historically produced material. As far as what specific mines/sites, only the miners and the distributors would know, and since they might be trying to make a living from them, are not likely to share...
Good luck!
