Fracture filled crystal opal from Ethiopia

The picture shows different views of an Ethiopian crystal opal before (left) and after (right) treatment with ordinary UV adhesive:

The result is by far not perfect, the cracks are still visible (although to a lesser extent).

Isn't the treatment more expensive than the stone at some point ? :)

No, it's a 25ct contra-luz opal with a "phantom" (the stone will be recut)
Consumption of adhesive is low, time and effort for the treatment are negligible.
Furthermore, it was more important to find out, which viscosity, RI and curing time is neccessary.
So, the knowledge gain is priceless.

I'd love to know your findings.
