Dear Experts,
I found black stone in the field and cannot properly identify it. It looks like marble but it is extremely hard to carve with diamond tools. Could you help?

Hi guys,
My girlfriend found a stone in the mountains. She asked me to make a tealight candle holder.
I thought it is not a gem. I sanded the bottom, it might be a gem stone. It is very soft , about 2 Moohs. Any ideas?
