I am bringing my girlfriend to Tucson for the first time. She is a gem cutter and works in a gem lab, so I want to give her the full experience.

On my list right now is ;
Kino
Jogs
22nd Street
Hotel Strip (RiverPark Inn, etc)
AGTA Show
Westward Look (for the eye candy)
Faceters Frolic at the Lapidary Club

Where else would you guys recommend?

Looking for faceting rough
Especially looking for nice but small Boulder Opal
Looking for eye candy, aka the best cutters work? I know John Dyer was at RiverPark Inn last year and maybe Dalan Hargrave might be around this year?

Where else for the best and most interesting?
Thanks

Thabks. Also thanks for mentioning the gem-a party in the other thread. I just made reservations for that too. My girlfriend is a gem-a grad and I really enjoyed Alan Hart last time I heard him speak so it should be a great party. And free!!? Wow. Gia party is $55

Just to prevent any confusion, Electric Park is now Kino, I believe.

Hah no way. My girlfriend is coming with me this year for the first time as well. She isn't in the trade but this is a great list for both of us. Thanks!

Hi Justin, in your quest for eye candy you absolutely must go see Michael Dyber's booth in the AGTA. He is phenomenal. In my opinion, the best fantasy style cutter there is. I always make sure I go by just to see his work.

Westward Look is definitely interesting--to be honest, though there was a much higher price floor I didn't think the items on sale were necessarily better than what I'd see at other shows, just more concentrated. The presentation and clientele were absolutely fascinating though.
