Was this piece fabricated or CadCam?

Wow that is a beautiful ring Lucy.

I can see from the preview pics on Facebook (I'm not a member) that you have great skills.

How long have you been making jewelry?

Any chance of you making some how to fabrication videos for us?

Thanks, Jim

The piece was hand fabricated Barbra.

Thank you for the compliment JCD :) I’ve been making jewellery for about 10 years now! I’m heading to the ToKyo Jewellery show tomorrow - going to check out digital cameras for my scope! Then for sure I will share all my process videos!

Awesome, Lucy.
Very few people in the world can produce work like that.

Well it's not exactly jewelry but thought I'd post it. If it doesn't belong here move it or trash it.

I made a contoured handle for a 3 piece razor from California Big Sur Jade.
The finial is stainless steel turned on the lathe, drilled, tapped and then shaped.

Nothing better than art you can actually use!^

This was the last piece I made, I'm quite happy with it despite the sub optimal finish. It's a concept that I would like to continue in the future. Each ring moves independently of the others. I would have done the whole solar system but it would've made the pendent massive. The stone is a small lab grown corundum.

Cheers folks

That's really cool!
It really could get out of control if you decided to do a solar system which included Pluto (for old times sake).
If the earth was a 3mm ball, Pluto would be 10.3 kilometers away.

Just a really simple piece, fresh off the bench:

Arizona turquoise in gold, unstabilized, cut from rough I picked up at Spruce Pine a couple weeks back. It was surprisingly cooperative and took a good polish without a fuss.

Hi Stephen

Very nice - your aquaprase too on 'Before and after'! Thanks for posting.

How do you prepare a cab for this kind of setting? Does it need a groove all around for the wire and what do you use to make a groove?

Martine

Thanks! Yes, it is channel cut with a router. I am still learning the technique but I love it when it works.
