An interesting Art Deco bracelet came across my desk today. The bracelet is apparently set with early modern round brilliant cut diamonds and a mix of green glass and green mystery stones. The mystery stones are very strange when viewed under magnification - showing a wild "crazed" appearance, a dark green core and colorless edge.
I am just curious if anyone else has seen these green "gems" before. My best guess after a little bit of research is that they could potentially be synthetic Lechleitner Coated Beryl OR Richard Nacken's Synthetic Emeralds produced in the 1920's.
Thank you, Katy B

Thank you for the feedback! The bracelet is platinum. Yes, the diamonds are transitional cuts. Sometimes it seems that the name "transitional" is synonymous with "early modern round brilliants" from what I have heard. Best wishes, Katy B

it means you identify green glass and another mystery stone? what gave the conclusion its glass?
as for mystery stone (or even those glass you identified) search for glass ceramics or Nano Crystal on this forum and Internet, they are suitable to cut in small sizes and have nice uniform color.
I believed that some of the green stones (the bright green, perfect looking ones) were glass due to the large number of gas bubbles and their overall appearance/luster.
After receiving some great feedback from the group - I have concluded that the other green stones (the ones that look like they are crazed or deteriorated) to be doublets of some sort. My descriptive term will most likely be - emerald simulant, doublet and/or "emerald Soudee" as Steinfroilein mentioned .

I don't believe in doublets either. Nor in synthetic emeralds. I would say either glass or plain natural emeralds. Why not emeralds ? The bracelet is in platinum. The piece would need to be seen by someone in person.
