Another great one Justin. I have always wanted a Jamb Peg head for my machine. I heard you mention two suppliers on the video, but could not make them out. Would you please post links? Thanks!

I have spent a good deal of time in Idar back when it was a large and active cutting center. It was always amazing to see hundreds of years old styles and equipment being used commercially along side of the most modern and technically advanced modern equipment. You can see the old lay down machines, and modern laser/computer driven scanning, planning, and cutting equipment in the same shop.

To launch my European faceting research trip which starts in London tomorrow morning, here is a new episode of World of Faceting Machines. This German machine is a good subject for today because the handpiece has been very influential in the history of gem cutting technology. It's also just a cool machine

Once again, nice video. That style faceting head has indeed been spread all around the World. I have always wanted this style jamb peg head just for fun.
Recently I found them for sale on EBAY for $99 from India. What the heck, I bought one figuring it would make a nice wall decoration at a minimum. It is actually a nice quality unit that can produce a well cut stone. It has nice height adjustment, and even a workable cheater. It fits on both the Facetron, and UltraTech machines. If anyone orders one, make sure to ask for two dop sticks so you can do a good straight transfer.
