I love that hanami and petal! Please save me the trouble of reverse engineering the petal and post a design for it!
Here are a couple I just got around to photographing.
Ethiopian opal in a round bar design. All of the peach color is coming from reflected light. This is the kind of body color I look for when I pick out faceting rough. I use a pen light from the back, a yellow body tone is more common but doesn't look as nice when faceted. For cabbing it doesn't make much difference.
Small danburite in an apex crown design. I always find danburite to be very photogenic, even if the stones aren't real remarkable in person.

Hello everybody!
This is my latest cut, and also my first design using Gem Cut Studio.
My admiration for the cutters who share their designs went from “high” to “stellar”. It is no easy task to make a good design.....
I was a little disappointed that I could not set the index gear to 78 (it is 3Dprinted for those 13-sides designs), but if you save a simple design, go into the savefile and manually change the index gear it works just fine.

Hi ya'll! This old rock sat around for years due to internal 'stuff', one cluster so straight and well defined I actually thought it might be a fracture. It cut a pretty stone though, so I'm glad I didn't give up on it. It came from my uncle's stash of stones mined in NC. Strickland's Compear 1:1.33, 3.59 cts, 12.3 x 9.2 mm

Cool! Yellow beryl? Even with inclusions the NC material seems to get a premium.
I was just assuming quartz, it polished so easily, but it really does have some sparkle. The image highlights the inclusions, but just eyeballing it, you don't really notice them - it just looks sparkle-y.
I've never seen an actual yellow quartz out of NC, though I guess I'd be surprised if none existed. Still, I have seen quite a few yellow beryls. I'd test the RI if I were you.

New composite Clear material is Hydrothermal Quartz. Colored material is Siamite (US Gems). Yes, it took a long time to build the layers. I have enough for a second one (that should be bettered centered.) Needs just a little more attention to the mount (black spots are old Zam! New tube arrived today)
