I bought a 38.45 ct Aqua out of a piece of 70s jewellery back in the fall and finally got around to cutting it. It was just a hair under 12mm from table to keel. 23.2x17.8x11.97mm

After recutting, it's 17.84cts. and 11.43mm from table to culet. 19.64x15x11.43mm

Better colour, better sparkle, and not much face up loss.

That's a tremendous improvement. Great work, Lisa.

Two Zambian emeralds, 2.86 ct (10.09 ct rough) and 2.49 ct (10.60 ct rough), for a client. Unfortunately the camera picks up the inclusions very visibly. They are less noticeable in the hand.

Are you going to clarity enhance them?Steve
No, they are already with the client for whom I cut them and she is happy with them as they are. The streaky inclusions in the rectangular stone are, I think, actinolite not empty tubes.

A tanzanite recutting job for a client. The girdle is deliberately thick to retain weight and keep the finished stone over 5 ct. The original stone was very lop-sided, with a shallow pavilion on the left hand side, so there was considerable weight loss.
