Hi everybody how are you? I would like to ask for your help and opinions. I have attached two not very good photos, but they may help. I have been offered a diamond necklace (Mughal cut ), total weight 9.45cts. And with a central ruby weigh 4.42cts, the ruby has good colour but inclusions with a magnifying 10X loupe and some foggy area. The mount is made of 22K gold and partially closes the ruby on the back, blocking the passage of light. Greatly appreciate your opinions. Best Regards

Hi, Finally, I got a certificate for the piece. I enclosed here the AGL lab certificate for the ruby. I was in GemGenéve and I profit to certificate some items, for Gem Lovers Passionate, an Awesome Fair!!! The Necklace is India 19th Century and has Mughal and rose-cut diamonds, something really fine and superb. Best regards

Hi, First of all, thank you all of you. When I ask about your opinion, of course, it's because I believe that professional's eyes help to see and take in consideration many aspects that the passion and illusion from an amateur blinded. Sometimes when you find some pieces you need to be a Buyer, but I'm not. I'm a Dreamer.
I agree with Barbra that it's a special piece, not for everyone, but this is totally dissimilar from what is produced in India today, of course, it's probably difficult to say when you don't have the Necklace in front of your eyes. Nevertheless, it's really a miracle find in India or everywhere today a Burmese ruby bigger than 5 carats without any treatment.

Morning vintagetimes. I beg to differ as to the gold and ruby diamond necklace being characteristic of the Deco period. There is nothing about it that is diagnostic of the period.....at least as we recognize it in the western world.
May I ask you to give us a little more information of the piece you posted. Is it platinum topped gold? What is the method of manufacture? What is the pale green stone with the red stones at the bottom?

To me this pendant looks like a very new item, inspired maybe from some vintage piece. But a bit clumsy and not quite balanced in its design. While the first necklace looks like a real antique, not especially with an Art Deco style.
