Good for you ! Still I am not quite sure that this should be called "red".
Red diaspore does not mean it is blood red. There is no such kind of red diaspore in reality. All red diaspores are purplish-pinkish crimson colour under incandescent light. If you give me your emaill address I will send you video then you will see it is red diaspore. Meanwhile Have you ever seen red diaspore in naked eye before ?

To rephrase: Diaspore is often mis-characterized as red when it is actually medium light, slightly grayish, very faint reddish-purple when viewed in incandescent light.

Yes That is true. There is nothing as solid blood red diaspore in the world. It is faint redish Purple or redish pink in incandescent light as you said. But Literally dealers call the stone red diaspore. It is common term by people who knows this stone very well.

The 'red diaspore' mentioned by some seller just a new find stronger color change diaspore, not the real red color diaspore. I have tested them by XRF and LA-ICP-MS, compare to the normal diapore before, they contain more V.
The real reddish or red color diaspore find in Burma contain much Cr and also find in South Africa which contain much Mn. But their crystals are almost small and thin that not enough to faceted.
