Hi Instead of crystalite crystal lube, we can use olive oil aswell, right? Anyone uses olive oil or baby oil?
Olive oil should work just as well when charging a lap. I use WD40 or something similar. 3 in 1 oil works just as well. In the past I have even used Vaseline or mineral oil but a lighter oil is easier to use. Basically you want any thin oil you have.
I've tried olive oil and it was too viscous. Lamplight Ultra-Pure (clear) is a paraffin oil. With Batts and diamond it has been excellent. It has very light viscosity and no odor. Similar products should be available outside the U.S. https://tinyurl.com/s3beyk9
I think Crystallube is cheaper than good extra virgin olive oil. A small bottle should last you several years. I have a bottle that is almost gone, but has been in use for several thousand stones.

I use olive oil all the time but I also find sewing machine oil, sometime called singer oil to work very well. Clean, odorless, viscous, and doesn't get rancid.

I have some sewing machine oil that was bought over 40 years ago I am now using as well. Any thin oil will work. Different countries use what is locally available.
