Hi
How much will be a 0.2μ diamond powder equivalent to pcd diamond polishing compound. 100K?
In Bangkok they sell diamond powder in microns.

A few people have been rebuking me for continuing to sell diamond product in grit sizes. Effectively, grit sizes are basically "Slang" because industrial grit size tables used for gravel no longer apply to these finer sizes. They are estimates based on "If you COULD possibly weave a wire screen to have openings of 1µ, it would be called #14,000." Searching for the many Grit Size -to-Micron tables, one finds a disparities between many of them. This is why the diamond products we make have the micron size on the label. The only thing that means anything is the average particle size of a Gaussian distribution.
But conversationally, "Grit size" has been used so long that is is part of our vocabulary. A " 200,000 Mesh" begs the question, "Is a thought of a unicorn a real thought?"

There are a number of different mesh size standards and none constitute an international standard.
I believe that the NIST only recognizes U.S. Mesh sizes to 635. Mesh sizes are a means of expressing coarse particle sizes that pass through a defined sieve developed before particles in aggregates could be measured directly.
Micron sizes are an international standard which can provide information on mode particle size and range. Diamond powder manufacturers process their powders into micron ranges. During my career in the diamond business, since 1981, I always purchased and sold diamond powder in micron sizes.
The optics and flat lapping industry buy their diamond powders in micron sizes. They do not think in terms of fictional mesh sizes and I am not aware of the use of mesh sizes as slang.
I am glad to hear that Bangkok diamond powder vendors sell diamond powder according to international standards.

I wish the world would switch completely to micron because mesh, grit, and micron is complicated and never quite matches up from company to company.
