Hello I found this website digging for facts about Gemology and became really intrigued. I plan on going to GIA here pretty soon. I wanted to get a head start on learning I didn't expect how deep this rabbit hole goes but my god do I love it. I just turned 29 and before I felt like I didn't know what I wanted to do. At a young age I was always fascinated by gems and rocks I just never knew you can get into actual career with this sort of thing.
It's nice to meet all of you! I wanted to ask what and where should I study before I enroll in GIA? I been learning a lot off youtube and but just ordered a book off amazon. I feel like it takes me longer to understand things then most people so I want to focus really hard and give it my all. Please feel free to recommend any tips Thanks! :

Hi Mizu810 and welcome.
There are no prerequisites for the GIA classes. Everything is explained clearly and fundamentally within their curriculum. You do not need any outside preliminary instruction. As a mater of fact, I don't recommend it.
