Recently several emeralds have been submitted to my lab, both rough and fashioned. They were all represented as as "No Oil. No Resin. No treatment", mined in Ethiopia.
Scanning with GemmoRaman verified they were all natural emeralds.
EXA revealed the presence, minimally, of oils and often accompanied with resin peaks. 100% showed added fillers.
FTIR scans showed a plethora of various fillers, both naturally occurring oils with resins galore.
