When the Ethiopian opals were first becoming available, I decided to invest. I found Daniel Kinfe online in Ethiopia, and sent him $1000 in a Western Union money order, knowing it might be a scam, but hoping it was not. I got back a package of Ethiopian opal that was glowing through the bubble wrap. I have bought from him many times, and am a very satisfied buyer.

So.... sometimes taking a risk works out. Not that I would recommend doing this usually, but ... I tend to be lucky.
