Hey guys I am new to this board and I am glad I found it. There is tons of good info on here that I can't find in all my books or on my other boards. I live in Georgia and rockhound and mine all over in Georgia, South Carolina, and of course Western North Carolina. I frequently visit the Jackson Crossroads amethyst mine and the Diamond Hill mine. I have some of the best top quality amethyst from Jackson Crossroads.. I collect amethyst from all over the world and it is the best amethyst I have ever seen except for the original Siberian. The blue flash and perfect crystals are unbelieveable. I have amethyst from Thunderbay, brazil, uraguay, peru, zambia, korea, china and tons of places in the U.S. Since this is my first post I am trying to get a feel for it. Any replys of info about this site and the people on this site is greatly appreciated. I am also a MAGMA member, is anybody else? Later
Amguy

I joined MAGMA about 6 months ago. We take fieldtrips all over the southeast United States collecting gemstone and minerals. We also reclaim old gemstone mines and make them safe for collecting. Membership is free. Just a few weeks ago I went with a few MAGMA members to a site they knew about in North Carolina and found a piece of facetable Hiddenite which is extrtemely rare. They could of kept the site to themselves but did not. I just got into collecting and cutting gemstone and these guys have helped out alot. I have read some great info on this site already. The people who post seem to be very knowledgeable. Thanks guys
