All good guesses but it was maialetto who guessed right. I was right...way too easy. This stone is a very very nice very BLUE Zircon weighing a bit over 2 carats.
JB got the dispersion part of the riddle right but the "Double the fun" was a reference to the back facet doubling.
Sigh...i need something really obscure for the next watizzit.
That was a good one Jason. I'm sure you can see how I related birefringence to "back facet doubling" in this case. Would be hard to differentiate zircon from benetoite based on general dispersion and birefringent descriptions along with a picture that would be excellent examples of either one. (except for the dispersion)

Did the seller have an origin associated with this stone? Just wondering if this material would be from Cambodia as many of the other shades of blue are.
