Thought we might try something a little different from "Stone of the Day" and develop a thread featuring only stones cut, owned or inventoried, past or present, by members. I know that I can't get enough of "Your Latest Jewelry Creation! Lets See It" and "Off the Dop....".

My thinking is that some of you, like me, are not interested in following unbrideled listings from universal sources. "SotD" is certainly an entertaining ride, but it is unweildy (I think) and, well, just a picture book. If there is enough interest, perhaps after, say, 25 or 50 listings(plus comments), a "Vol. II" thread could commence to reign in unwieldiness.

But, there is no sense in confusing things, so if you think this thread is a needless overlap of others, let me know, and I will ask Barbra to delete it.

SO, to begin this thread, let me borrow these two recent postings of members' exceptional stuff (that yellow Danburite, and many more belong here, too):

"Unbrideled" & "unweildly."

Hmm, ok.

More like, open to everyone who wants to post. No prejuidice.

If that is "unbrideled & "unweildy" than so be it, but its also fair.

I do wish you sucess though. Pictures are good! :D

Since UX4 brought up my danburite, I thought I'd bring it back for a return engagement ....

3.86 ct mixed oval. A lovely color reminiscent of imperial topaz.

Just so there is no confusion, I am merely lucky enough to own this stone. The fantastic cutting was done by Jeff White.

I'll toss in the larger version of my avatar image... the cc sapphire that graces the engagement ring of my lovely bride-to-be.

Here is one I have on memo, a potential sale in progress, and I'll be recutting it, so these are the before pictures. I might just buy this anyway and do it myself!

Vietnamese Spinel, no brown, pink or blue..dead on for a burmese. 2.69 carats.

Imperial Topaz Suite, 73.92cttw. Brazilian untreated material all from the same crystal, my cutting. Already sold.

Anyone ever tried to find even a matched pair of this stuff? It is tough.

John (Dyer, that is!),

Your suite is magnificent. You make me not want to post my photos!

I may however post a photo of 2 rings with your stones in them.
