Clue 10 is confusing.
You're meant to name the gem that displays the nail head inclusions, the heads of which actually look like the breadcrumbs.

um, 9 down has got me a bit stumped...

...surely, the optical effect observed when one has "gotta de acide" is bad trip - am i allowed to spell that as one word ? -then it fits :)

9 down is not "badtrip" unless you get involved in some crazy sh*t while in Colombia attempting to buy one of these gems.

hint hint

thanks for the hints Barbra... you are very kind to such a dummy

thinks ... Colombia's top three exports must be: cocaine, emerald and misses universe ... now, only two of those have 7 letters ...yep, i've got it!... has to be cocaine.

wow, this crossword is so tough. i can do the cross part ok, but it's the words!

now, 8 across - it has got to be either mexifire or sexifire...but,um, the latter sounds a bit like something that arrives in a plain brown wrapper...not that one knows anything about that sort of thing, of course...so, mexifire it must be. hold on, it could be lexifire or lexifier or ...damn,damn,damn.

as for elvis prasiolite's favourite gem... i keep getting red spider ...which must be something like this ... funny, i wouldn't have thought elvis was the type. you just never know.

hints gratefully accepted :?
