Here is what i collected at Jackson Crossroads yesterday. The center purp has great saturation. The one directly below it is a great spec. it has a purple flame shot through the center. the one to the left of the center purp is the darkest one I have ever collected from there. To bad it has a crack right through the middle. When held up to the light it flashes a strong blue.

I only got a few matrix pieces this time..nothing to good.

A couple druzy quartz specs.

The only decent one is an ice clear crystal(no purp, I don't think) inside a decent sized pocket. The rock is on my tailgate

You can see the crystal starting to shine out

Here is the crystal shining like a star.

here is another of the crystal. I am going to try and take the host rock off around the pocket but leave the pocket intact instead of splitting the rock to make an open display piece.

Depends on what Terry does for preparation. Last time I was there with AG, I was the only serious surface collector. I found almost as much starting left to right. Best hit came from the side across the pit from the entrance and the areas just before the shovel trail in to the pit on the right.

It's all hit and miss now. When the previous owner had it he made sure to leavr some stuff in the tailings for folks to find. The owners now go through the material with a fine tooth comb but some pieces do slip by. It's not like the good ole' days. The material is worth tons of money so letting any slip by, especially anything good is not in the mine owners best interest. there was a $7000 and a $10,000+ specimen sold at tuscon this year and I have no idea how many cheaper priced specs. went but thats a lot of money for amethyst. You can buy a 1000 pound brazilian amethyst vug/geode for a lot less. The problem with the new stuff terry will be bringing up is it nhas been sitting underwater for months and it will all be sticky mud. You will have to rip open each mud ball and clump which is very time consuming.
