I am relatively new to this (gemstones) and am looking for some reputable online suppliers. There were a few mentioned in a previous post. Anyone have any additional suggestions? Thanks....

I would like to start off collecting relatively lower-priced colored gemstones - some of the things I would be interested in are tourmaline, garnets, quartzes (citrine, smoky quartz, amethyst, etc), aquamarine, and the like.

I hate to be redundant, BUT, your best bet is always to buy gems in person. Make comparisons, ask questions, build relationships with vendors:
