In the first week of the new year i'm going to be using an SEM/EDX for the very first time. Before I do that I want to get some background information on the machinery in general and how it works, i.e. it's setup and a general standard operating procedure. I've been told the instrument is a CamScan microscope with a backscattered
electron, secondary electron and absorbed emission detectors with a ThermoNoran EDX (LN2 cooled doped silicon X-ray detector). My only experience has been with Raman spectroscopy so i'm not sure what to expect and how different/difficult it will be?!?!?
Any help will be really great, thanks!
