Delta Nu is a well known maker of Raman Instrumentation.

The above unit comes with their NuSpec software, which can access their geological database.
The ReporteR displays the spectrum on its own little screen and and talks to the computer by USB. It also can store spectra in an SD card.

We have one of their BenchTop compact instruments where I work.

Very easy for the students to use.

DeltaNu also makes the Rockhound which has a geological library and can be fitted to a microscope. There are over 500 minerals in their Geo library
