I am proud to announce the creation of the GemQuest High Performance Gemmological Scholarship program. This scholarship allows students to take the World Gem Foundation's Career Gemmologist Diploma program. The program is divided into two levels. Level One is divided into two nine-month terms and consists of 78 theoretical lessons, 13 online tests and 12 webinars. All applicants receive 100% funding for Level One ($ 1,500 USD). During Level One, students accumulate points through the tests they write, how well they do in them, and webinar attendance. At the end of Level One, a students ranking within their grouping (100 students per group) determines the % of funding they will receive for Level Two. Funding will range from 50% ($ 2,750 USD) for students ranking from 51st to 100th to 100% ($ 5,000 USD) for students ranking in the Top 10. This scholarship program is designed to reward students who exhibit passion and dedication towards their studies. The harder they work, the greater the reward.
GemQuest will be available in six geographical zones (Zone A - USA and Canada, Zone B - Central America and the Caribbean, Zone C - South America, Zone D - India, Zone E - China and Zone F - Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Scholarship Conditions: Students need to be 18 years old (or sponsored by a parent or guardian if younger), pay a one-time $ 250 USD administration fee (this will include lifetime membership to the WGF and all future course updates), and legally reside in one of the scholarship zones.
In 2026, 1500 scholarships will be offered with each zone allotted a certain number of scholarships. Registrations for the first program (starting on January 12th, 2026) will open on July 1st, 2025 at 12pm GMT and will remain open until either a zone has been filled or the 2025 deadline of September 30th, 2025.
Provided a student meets the scholarship conditions, acceptance is guaranteed. Our agreement with GemQuest will see the creation of 15,000 scholarships over the ten-year agreement making this one of the largest, if not the largest, gemmological scholarship program in the world.
