Re: synthetic or natural
seems natural, No obvious curved growth lines or gas bubbles but Partially healed fractures that suggest heat evidence

Thank you for your reply.I think i will definitely ask the lab as to why they had given it as synthetic.

Re: synthetic or natural
Growth lines look slightly curved to me.
I'd go w/ flame fusion synthetic.....red fluorescence is odd, as the iron in sapphire should quench it.
GRS has access to many instruments (FTIR) that should easily separate natural from synthetic.

Thank you for your reply. The report just said synthetic stone.Dint mention if it was synthetic sapphire or a ruby or something else. And id given the alexandrite for an additional report and the person kept insisting i show her the gia certificate and even photographed it.i dont know if thats thats normal or is it just labs nowadays.

Re: synthetic or natural
That's odd. I hope you weren't charged for that identification.
Re: synthetic or natural
had asked for a express report and paid for it.Its wierd cause they want you to give a value on the stone, charge you according to that.I was wondering if i knew the id of the stone and then the value i would not be standing here of course i dint say that ,just gave vague numbers, they are a bit intimidating. My experience with high end labs like a lotus and now grs was wierd and intimidating.I still dont know if one is allowed to question these labs and do they even bother answering or do they have disclaimers.
