Fire opal or imperial jade
Found this unassuming plain jane rock in a small river stream, and upon closer inspection it's translucent a green. Like imperial jade green with square black inclusions. Otherwise it's unremarkable outer shell is a shuttle black color but it it's held up to a light it becomes see through green . Does anyone know what gem it might be thanks for your help
Re: Fire opal or imperial jade
IN my opinion it looks like neither

Fore opal is by definition orange to red so we can be confident it isn't that lol.
Serpentine is an option here but this kind of rock is difficult to identify in the hand, much moreso in a photo.

Definitely no Fire opal.
Has a hardness test been done?

I presume you got the options "Jade","Green Stone" and "opal" from a google search using their image function.
Correct?
This is clearly not the best tool for gem ID.
It appears to be a pebble made of more than one mineral (?) or substance. If I had to make a call, I'd guess it is S-type nephrite, heavily included with magnesite and/or graphite.
