Chrysocolla is a hydrous copper silicate. It's a soft mineral and doesn't hold up well in jewelry. It is associated with the minerals azurite and malachite. Recently a silicified variety has been found that has the color of chrysocolla but is considerably harder and translucent as opposed to opaque. Chrysocolla has a calming and peaceful reputation, and has been credited with helping nervous speakers communicate more clearly.
